2001 model year Astra Convertible with 1796cc 125 PS 16v engine. Europa Blue bodywork with 'Texas' black cloth sports interior. Supplied 11/5/01 by Allans Vauxhall Centres, Epsom, Surrey to themselves as demonstrator. After the required 3 months it was sold to a gentleman from Sidmouth in Devon. On 10/3/06 it then sold by an independent dealer in Southampton to a lady from Berkshire , the sister-in-law of our mechanic Iain. She traded it in with us for an Audi A4 estate as first child imminent and more practical car needed.

AVAILABLE WITH RAC WARRANTY GOLD WARRANTY AT EXTRA COST (OUR COST PRICE)
Supplied with original grey cloth Vauxhall floor mats. Spare remote key. Complete owners manual wallet.

This Astra Convertible comes with extra cost option of metallic paint. Standard spec includes air conditioning, electric windows, front fog lights, fully automatic power hood which can be operated remotely using the key fob, remote central locking, alarm, immobiliser, 16" alloy wheels with 205 50 16 tyres, outside temperature display.

This example is still in fine condition even though its ninth birthday looms which does suggest that build quality isn't far off that from the VW Group. The fully electric (no handles to twist, just press a button on dash or from outside the car with the key) power hood works perfectly and the fabric is in very good condition. The bodywork is free of any significant marks, the interior isn't excessively worn and the wheels are close to perfect. It drives very well too, the well proven 1.8 16v Ecotec engine offering eager performance and modest running costs. The exhaust tailpipe in these pics has been replaced due to corrosion. The Astra Convertible was designed by the famous Italian design house Bertone and you have to admit its a far sharper looking drop-top than the Mk3.5 Golf version which was in the showrooms at the same time, especially as it does not have the Golf's clumsy roll over hoop and is thus completely free of clutter when roof and windows are lowered.
