90/G Mk2 Golf Driver 1.6 5 door
£1490

1990 model year Mk2 Golf Driver 1.6 in Royal Blue Metallic supplied 10/4/90 by Stonehouse Motors Ltd, Birmingham. 5 owners from new, first was a lady from Birmingham, 2nd was a gentleman from Solihull. 3rd owner was a gentleman from Hall Green, B'ham who purchased it from an established local garage on 28/6/05. On 19/4/07 it was registered in his daughter's name for a month (same address/surname) after which it was re-registered in his name - he offered it to us direct having had it serviced at our neighbouring workshops in the past.

94600 miles, 10 stamps from supplying dealership in original service book but due to low initial mileage this only covers up to 28000 miles (11.3.96). We have every MOT certificate apart from the very first one, the last owners bill of sale and HPI report. Just had an oil change by us using semi-synthetic oil and VW oil filter. MOT to 5/8/10. We have a receipt for a service 26/2/05 and cambelt change at 62397 (3/6/03). We have fitted a new rear shock absorber, rear wheel bearing, had the rear brake drums cleaned and adjusted. New clutch.
Road tax supplied to end of December 2009. Spare key. Complete owners manual wallet.
Rare power steering, factory steel sliding sunroof, twin lamp grille, 14" BBS RZ alloy wheels - an original option. VW supplied Sony radio cassette player with face case, locking wheel bolts. Available with good used red trim GTI grille for small extra cost.
Outstanding condition inside and out. There are some minor scratches and chips here and there but the bodywork is very tidy and the bodyshell is very solid with no significant corrosion and panels believed to be original, all factory stickers intact. Original number plates front and rear in good condition. Virtually as new interior with no holes or smells. 4 good 185 60 14 Pirelli tyres. The boot area does show signs of use but we have reversed the black trim on the back of the rear seat to improve things as this was scuffed.
As well as the oil change, we have fitted a new rear shocker absorber, a rear wheel bearing, had the rear brake drums cleaned and adjusted. Due to a slight leak we have replaced the radiator with a good used part from a GTI 8v using its top and bottom hoses as it's slightly bigger. We will be fitting a new clutch on Tuesday 4th August using a genuine quality LUK kit due to slight slipping, it can still be test driven in the meantime locally. We'll also fit new power steering and alternator belts as those present look like the originals.
No, we didn't get this free of charge and in all honestly our mark up isn't really worth the effort involved in preparing and selling it but it's such a genuine example that we are happy to give our stamp of approval. It seems to drive well and wouldn't take much effort to make into something special.
