This car was purchased with the view to becoming my track day car. It wasn't actually bought to become a magazine project car but thanks to the support of the magazine and the suppliers it worked out better than expected. However I now need the funds for another project so sadly it has to go (I will be building a Production GTI racing car one day if funds allow). This is a rare chance to purchase an Edition 30 with sensible upgrades that mean it's now both an incredible road and track day car in one. It is 100% free of any silly embarassing modifications (well apart from R8 filler caps which were there when we acquired it) A good Edition 30 is worth quite a lot these days and doing this work on top would take you many thousands of pounds beyond our asking price and bear in mind, it's not actually done many miles since all this work started. Most of our mileage was on a 'ring trip where the car did just one lap due to bad weather. Due to the cost of track days (entry fees, fuel, time) we haven't actually used it on track all that much so everything still has plenty of life left in it.
Condition :
We didn't want to buy a perfect car but bought a good solid example with minor marks here and there. As is usual with Mk5 there is some rust on the offside front wing (nearside is perfect) but it's a good solid example with nearly all original paint. We had the front bumper painted in 2017. The bodywork was machine polished in 2018 and sealed with Autoglym HD wax.
The interior is excellent with no smells or excessive wear.
